Description
A current passing through a wire creates a magnetic field around it.
Equipment
- Short wire
- Compass
- DC Power supply (10 A)
- Push button with 1 Ohm resistances.
Instructions
- Plug the power supply to the wire through the push buttons with the 1 Ohm resistance
- Place the compass above or below the wire
- Push the button for a few seconds and watch the needle move
