Description

A flexible, corrugated plastic tube, hollow on both ends, is spun around in a circle. The air flowing through the tube creates a sound due to standing wave resonance.

Equipment

  • wind tubes

Instructions

Hold the tip of the tube and swing it rapidly in a circle. If you swing it fast enough you will be able to hear the emitted sound. The pitch depends on the length of the tube and its velocity.
