Description

The Kelvin water dropper is a electrostatic generator. It amplifies a small difference in charge between two insulated buckets.

Equipment

  • Kelvin water dropper set up
  • Water


Instructions

  • Make sure the two buckets are in place: they should be well insulated and their should be a few millimeter gap between one pin of the bulb and the wire reaching the cup and the other pin should be alreader solder to the opposite wire.
  • Pour water in the top plastic cup
  • Observe light bulb flashing (in the dark is best)
