Description

A hanging ball-bearing is positioned at the end of a fixed metal bar. When the bar the struck on its opposite end by a hammer, the force propagates through the bar from the collision and causes the ball-bearing to swing away.

Equipment

  • metal bar and 2x c-clamps
  • hammer
  • ball-bearing pendulum and rods attachment

Instructions

Attach the metal bar to the table using the c-clamps. Place the ball-bearing pendulum on the rods attachment such that the ball is hanging right at the edge and touching the metal bar. Strike the opposite end of the bar with the hammer.
